Survival 2: Earth Living Weekend Sat-Sun

Survival 2 (Earth Living) follows Survival 1, the survival foundations skills. The self reliance that comes from crafting a comfortable and enjoyable experience with any landscape in all seasons until the outdoors feels like home. Each course is different but follows the outline below.
Make an effective shelter from debris, make fire from the landscape, process drinking water and prepare wild food. Learn how primitive skills, bush craft, and survival skills can become a way of life. Skills will carry over into daily life, increasing balance, health, diversity, and a sense of connection to nature.
Skills Covered:
- Attitude and mindset for survival
- Debris hut design and construction
- Mechanics of airflow,
- heat-loss and thermal envelop design
- Bow Drill on the landscape
- Water sources
- Debris Hut refinements and modifications
Time: Sat. 9am – Sun. 5pm
Limit: 12 Students

Maine Primitive Skills School offers campsites to students during their stay at no extra charge. When preparing to arrive, plan as if you were going on a comfortable car camping experience. You will have easy access to your vehicles during meals and before and after course times. Check out our “What to Bring” page and don’t hesitate to contact the school for more details.
