Knife Making Weekend

Forge your own blade with our blacksmith, Dakota Douglas. You will learn through hands on experience how to turn raw steel into a serviceable tool from heating and hammering to the tempering process. This 4 part Blacksmithing series will begin on August 12 and run every Sunday for the month of August and conclude on Sunday September 2nd(Labor Day Weekend). Below is a tentative schedule for each week. Note: If you would like to make a different tool than what we are offering that week we will work with you to accommodate your interests.
August 12th: During this workshop we will be helping you craft a a “puukko-style” knife which is a small traditional Finnish general purpose belt knife with a single curved cutting edge and, usually, a flat back.
Cost: $250.00 includes materials and instructor costs as well as the knife you will take home.
