Working an animals hide in to fine buckskin is an art form and demands a level of commitment to the process. Shaping bone in to useful tools is also as much an artistic endeavor as it is a practical skill. Both of these skills are handy if you have a deer hanging and are ready to process it in a way that is closer to the old way of hunting. Respect for your prey included using as much as you could and to have little to no waste from a quick kill to efficient field dressing, to use of each part.  We will delve into many more uses of each part of a deer, but the center piece of this course is Brain tanned buckskin from a fresh hide and using bone to make a variety of tools. We will also go through the harvest, storage, and use of sinew.
