Begin the quest toward increased self reliance and a deeper connection to what is real and meaningful in your outdoor experiences. These are skills and experiences you will enjoy for the rest of your life.
Beyond Wilderness Survival there is Earth Living. The self reliance and deep nature connection that comes from knowing you can craft a comfortable and enjoyable experience with any landscape. Make an effective shelter from only the debris you find. Read the landscape in order to find and process drinking water. From the wood you gather and shape, coax fire for your light, your tool making, warmth, water purification, and to cook the endless stream of nutrient rich foods you gathered yourself. Let us meet you where you are and help you develop your edge.

Maine Primitive Skills School offers campsites to students during their stay at no extra charge. When preparing to arrive, plan as if you were going on a comfortable car camping experience. You will have easy access to your vehicles during meals and before and after course times. Check out our “What to Bring” page and don’t hesitate to contact the school for more details.
