Beyond survival there is Earth Living. The self reliance that comes from crafting a comfortable and enjoyable experience with any landscape in all seasons until the outdoors feels like home. Choose the month to train and we’ll provide the landscape and experience.
Make an effective shelter from debris, make fire from the landscape, process drinking water and prepare wild food.  Learn how primitive skills, bush craft, and survival skills can become a way of life. Skills will carry over into daily life, increasing balance, health, diversity, and a sense of connection to nature.

Maine Primitive Skills School offers campsites to students during their stay at no extra charge. We encourage folks to arrive Friday evening to set up camps and settle in before start of class Saturday. When preparing to arrive, plan as if you were going on a comfortable car camping experience. You will have easy access to your vehicles during meals and before and after course times. Check out our “What to Bring” page and don’t hesitate to contact the school for more details.
