Sharing ancient skills and wisdom for a modern context since 1989

Our goal is a simple one: to promote self-reliance through a productive connection with the land. At MPSS, we strive to reconnect people to the earth through nature literacy and hands-on experience. We believe that nature connection is vital for all people to know, and we aim to make it accessible for the sake of the earth we walk on, the water we drink, and the air we breath; for the sake of our grandchildren. We hope that our students can share what they’ve learned with their own communities as parents, friends, teachers, and naturalists.

We offer our wilderness education programs in the form of day, weekend & 5-Day courses. Our residential and non-residential immersion programs bring in people from near and far to study wilderness survival, primitive skills, field-craft, and nature literacy.
