Summer Awareness 5 Day
July 9, 2022 @ 9:00 am - July 13, 2022 @ 3:30 pm
This is the time when Black Bears are marking their territories and mating. Chipmunks are in the maples eating the seeds from the winged samaras. Snapping Turtles are laying their eggs. Long Summer Days and short nights give us a unique insight into the opportunities the lush summer season has to offer.
Learning to read the landscape as in depth as you would a book requires all of your senses and provides you access to many more choices and options. Experience a more thorough understanding of where you are in relationship to your landscape. As you exercise your senses you will also gain skills that will make your daily interactions more engaging.
Side effects may include increased abilities in aid-less navigation, reading patterns in tree growth for useful information, field meteorology, wildlife and human tracking skills, understanding animal and bird behaviors, natural movement, and reading the history of the landscape through it’s flora and geological features. A sense of timelessness and a baseline of deep nature connection and joy have also been reported.
