May is the ideal time to start your foraging adventures for the year. Green shoots of countless varieties are popping out of the ground begging to be picked for you salads and wild roots are beckoning from beneath the freshly thawed soil. So come join us here at the Maine Primitive Skills School where we will be reviewing some of the choice edibles & medicinals in and around Maine this season before heading out into the fields and forests nearby to bring back something delicious and nutritious for us to craft into a Sunday afternoon snack of the wild kind! Regardless of your experience or skill level in regard to wild plants, trees or Fungi we will help you push your edge and learn something new. Here are some of the plants you can bet we may encounter during this workshop: Dandelion, Plantain, Burdock, Yellow Dock, Day Lily, Jerusalem Artichoke, Pines, Cattail, Lamb’s Quarter, Yarrow, Coltsfoot, Jewel-weed, Japanese Knotweed just to name a few possibilities. Let’s see what the landscape brings us.
